Recent write-ups by independent critics have been very complementary about the choice of food we have to offer on our 'bar snack' menu and if you thought that included "Chicken in the Basket" at our Exeter bar, then think again! As many of you will know when you choose a 'bar snack' at the Jack you're in for something special. Even the humble Ploughman's, a staple at any Exeter country pub, is given the VIP treatment and offers dairy lovers in particular a fantastic choice of distinctive, local cheeses full of character, heritage and rural undertones.

At our Exeter Pub, all the dishes are prepared using freshly delivered, fully traceable local produce and even the more traditional dishes will surprise you. "Bangers & Mash" comprises a quartet of award winning, expertly made local sausages accompanied by pumpkin puree, parsnip crisps and fresh seasonal vegetables, while our "Fish & Chips" is a million miles away from the modern day travesty and with fresh cod in a real ale batter, served with homemade chips, salad with a bite and tartare sauce, this simple dish is lifted to altogether more satisfying heights. Perfect with a large glass of Sancerre.

In close proximity to Exeter Airport and just off Junction 29 of the M5 motorway, often our bar snack menu makes the perfect choice for those in a hurry. The team here pride themselves in their ability to cater quickly and efficiently for those who are tight on time. Whether you're visiting our Exeter Pub for just one hour, or have a little longer to spare, it's a great place to 'pop in' for lunch to meet work colleagues or friends during your lunch hour or an early evening meal after a day out.
