As of this year we are happy to recommend a very special place just several miles from us. Perfect for a special overnight treat or a well earned short break, Charlie and Julia Hutchings at Larkbeare Grange ensure that all their guests are thoroughly looked after in their special and very relaxing corner of East Devon. Set in stunning countryside, only five minutes from the A30, it is ideally located for those wishing to explore the University City of Exeter as well as the surrounding area where we source many of our ingredients from.

All bedrooms are en suite (comprising both a walk-in shower and bath) and contain all the creature comforts you would expect as well as some nice little extra touches including Molton Brown toiletries and heated mist free mirrors. Wireless internet connection is available across the whole property. All rooms have effective lighting, spacious hanging cupboard with bathrobes and really comfortable king-size Vi-Spring beds with Egyptian cotton linen and goose down duvets. Charlie and Julia are happy to make up beds with sheets, blankets and foam pillows if preferred.

We are not the only ones to rate Larkbeare as it currently features in Alastair Sawday’s Special Places to Stay, has been awarded Five Stars and a Gold Award by VisitBritain and a Silver Award from The Green Tourism Business Scheme. Larkbeare has a strong environmental policy designed to actively reduce its waste and carbon emissions as well as a commitment to buying locally. Breakfast is served in the striking Dining Room which has far reaching views across the garden and countryside whilst the Drawing Room provides an excellent space in which to just kick back and relax with a book or newspaper.

For those travelling to and from Exeter International Airport or Whimple station, transport can be arranged. For more details on Larkbeare please click here
